Zubie, a Minneapolis-based connected-car platform and telematics provider, is partnering with the Hertz franchise in Athens, Ga., to help the business increase its operational efficiency.
The 45-day Zubie pilot program resulted in immediate improvement of fleet efficiency, including real-time vehicle location, reporting and alerts that improved vehicle utilization across the fleet, according to Zubie.
Zubie’s connected-car system helped the Hertz franchise quickly identify vehicles returned or idle within and outside their network, resulting in faster vehicle processing and increased revenue generation.
“Due to our franchise’s close proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, our vehicles were often difficult to find in the mass of airport rental returns,” said Rich Sinda, Athens, Ga., Hertz franchise owner/operator. “Zubie made it quicker and easier to pinpoint those vehicles so we got them back to the lot and back out on rent sooner.”
Now that the pilot is complete, Sinda said he will be expanding Zubie to his entire fleet. His Hertz franchise is located at 1020 Ben Epps Dr. in Athens.
“This partner has found that Zubie is a fast, simple and economical solution for many operational challenges,” said Glenn Udall, vice president of strategic partnerships for Zubie. “But most importantly, they now understand how the Zubie fleet management platform can also save both time and money.”
The Zubie connected-car platform enables fleet managers to access vehicle location, vehicle health and diagnostic information, driver safety scores and trip management tools.
