Ram Commercial has selected Verizon Connect for its factory-fit telematics software solutions on select Ram commercial vehicles, Verizon announced.
“Ram Telematics powered by Verizon Connect is a comprehensive telematics and mobile workforce management software platform that supports Ram’s commitment to providing customers with value beyond the vehicle,” Verizon said in a news release. “The new offering will help customers save money, increase driving safety and improve operations by providing critical information businesses of any size can use to optimize their fleets.”
Ram Commercial describes the telematics system as “a technology for fleets that allows commercial vehicle managers to turn vehicle data into operational savings.”
“The Ram Telematics solution offers clear cost-of-ownership benefits to commercial truck buyers,” said Mike Manley, head of Ram Truck Brand – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. “The vocational-use segment is significant to us, and it’s important for Ram Commercial to offer a full suite of services that are important to work-truck customers.”
Ram Telematics powered by Verizon Connect will be available this year as a factory-fit feature on new Ram trucks and vans and can be installed on select 2015 model year and newer light-duty, heavy-duty and chassis cab trucks. Ram Telematics also will be available on Ram ProMaster and ProMaster City commercial vans later in 2018.
One year of Ram Telematics service starts at $800.
