Denso Corp. and NEC Platforms have formed a joint venture – Denso Next Co.—to help develop connected technologies for use in cars.
Starting operations on Dec. 1, Denso Next Co. will develop in-vehicle information and communications equipment critical for fostering a connected environment inside vehicles. Products will include instrument clusters, head-up displays and on-board communications equipment.
The recent cockpit innovation and advancement of connected technologies have made communication between products in the cabin more complicated, Denso said. Denso Next will harness Denso’s advanced automotive engineering and manufacturing capabilities, and NEC Group’s advanced technologies business to help quickly design and bring to market advanced in-vehicle equipment.
Denso Next will be located NEC’s Tamagawa Plant in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan.Tags: connected technologies, Denso, NEC Platforms
